Final Post

IS101 Experience 

I had a great experience in IS101-3003/5, Spring 2026. As I said at the beginning of IS101 in the discussion, I didn't know what IS101 was. The class was very good at completing assignments, etc. There were times when I used to struggle and fall behind in work. But in the end, I keep catching up with the work. I believe that time management is really one thing that one needs to manage when taking IS101 to succeed in this course.

My Experience of IS101

The course was great, learning about the MOS office pro is a great skill and experience that we use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint outside of IS101, either personal, job, etc. IS101 had amazing classmates. People were so nice and ready to help me when I didn't understand an assignment. Even though I didn't know or talk to all the students in my classroom, they seemed like really good people. Professor Wu was very professional and very helpful when it came to asking questions and showing how to do the correct assignments.

Gain from IS101

I learned and gained so much from the course, which taught me and showed me the MOS Office in a different way. I gained too much experience and skill by doing MOS, along with the help of Professor Wu. Also, from the classmate knowing them and the classroom, and also sharing their struggles and accomplishments on blogging, I learned and gained that everyone can have the same experience and difference experience taking IS101.

Something that I want to share is that I really enjoy studying IS101 and also had a great time posting blogs and replying to all of you students, even though I sometimes found it harder since I would get bored and reply for too long. I also learned a lot by reading the blog posts about skills, experiences, etc. I hope all the students succeed and accomplish their goals in the future.

My Way To Phase 2 and Learning Excel

Excel Knowledge

In phase 2, Microsoft Excel and URL Components & Social Engineering, I struggle. At the beginning of Excel, I didn't know anything. I feel a little strange since I didn't know anything about it, even thought the were some tools similar to Word. Excel Function was one thing that I struggled with at the beginning i didnt knew nothing about the Excel functions. I thought that it would be complicated for me. After learning some Excel functions in 1-2 days, I kept forgetting them. So I decided to take notes and practice it in Excel outside of labsim. For the A6 Spread Analysis with trailer, I feel that it was a very good assignment for me; it helped me gain more knowledge on Excel. But also, I struggle to complete A6; I struggle with the conditional formatting. Overall, in Phase 2, I think I performed better than in Phase 1. I applied to myself a better learning way, such as studying, reviewing, and going over labsim.

 Online data is information stored on the internet that can be accessed, collected, and updated through sources such as websites, databases, and web services. This type of data includes statistics, lists, charts, and real-time updates from sources such as social media, news sites, and public records. In programs like Excel, online data can be imported directly from a website, allowing users to analyze and organize it without manually copying and pasting. One key advantage of online data is that it can be refreshed automatically, ensuring that the information stays current and accurate for ongoing use.

Outside IS101

What I learned in Phase 2 of IS101-3003/5, Spring 2026, I plan to apply what I learned in MO 210 Excel for budgeting, expenses manage task, and side hustle. I used to use Excel to track my expenses for profit and losses for my side hustle, but I always used to use other people's templates. With what I learned in Phase 2 MO 210 Excel, I will use that knowledge and practice to also apply it to my reseller side hustle. Also, I want to share that I learned many things that I couldn’t have imagined. Working on phase 2, especially MO-210, I learned Excel functions which definitely i will definitely try and practice more.

My Plan

In Phase 3, to succeed, I need to upgrade my mindset and focus more on habits that will benefit me. I feel that to take this action of succeeding, I need to manage my time better to complete any assignment or work not only in IS101 but also outside of IS101. So far in phase 3, I'm doing pretty well.

My Path and Experience in IS101

Phase 1 of IS101

I think that Phase 1 of IS101-3003/5, Spring 2026, has been terrible so far for me because I keep falling behind. Although I have been working on the MO-110 Word certification exam, studying and reviewing all to pass with a perfect score. I believe that in the future phase, I will set myself a time management plan and a schedule to keep time with my work. I feel like there is more to learn. I learned that phase 1 of IS101 can be difficult if you don't really put the work into it. So, in the second phase, I decided to change so many things so I can improve. My study habits are great, but the only thing that I lack is time management. I feel like I don't really have a set time to work on the assignment for IS101.

4.6.2 Spelling Checking

Microsoft Word has a feature called "Spell Check," which provides users with an option to check for spelling and grammar errors in a document while the user is typing. Word will underline any word that it seems to be misspelled in red or a potential error that it indicates an error. Also, if a grammar shows in blue, this means that it needs to be corrected to the correct word. You can easily fix this by simply right-clicking on the underlined word or phrase, and you can choose from suggested corrections to fix the error quickly. While you use the spell check as you are typing, you also have the option to run a complete spelling and grammar check of your document using the Review tab at the end of the document. Although using the spell-checking feature of Microsoft Word is very helpful in identifying some common errors you have made, it is still essential to proofread your paper carefully to ensure that everything is correct and clear.

My way through the MOS exam

Well, the MO-110 Word certification exam has already pass, what I did to prepare to take this exam was studying the entire course of C.0 MOS 365 App Practice exams. What really helped me the most was Forms A and B of the Microsoft Word Practice. It really gave me an idea of how the exam was going to look. Also, with the C.1 Preparing for MOS Certification, after completing each task, I really notice what I need to practice to be prepared for my MOS exam. Even though I was nervous to take the exam, I knew that if I practiced a lot and put effort to eventually all my hard work was going to pay off. I'm one of those people who believe that if you put in the work, you will accomplish everything you want.

Something to the Worldwide Web

I wanted to share something about me that I do on a daily basis. I've been practicing a lot of editing. I started 4 months ago, and I feel like my progress has been a little slow, even though I practice every day I still don't feel the progress that I want. I started in Davinci Resolve since this app is free for editors, even though I hear it's not the best, I still use it because it's free. I eventually want to upgrade to a better version, weather is After Effects or Premiere, I still don't know which one is better. But I make sure I do more research before switching into these platforms.

About myself

Hello, my name is Mizrain Perez Claudio, I'm 19 years old, and I'm in my 2nd semester at CSN. I'm a very passionate young man who likes to challenge myself against every obstacle that comes my way in my lifetime. At CSN, I'm seeking my associate's degree in Construction Management and Technology. Me Mizrain Perez Claudio, I believe in personal growth and a growth mindset. For me, this is very important because I can develop new skills and learn more about myself physically, spiritually, or socially. Some of my favorite hobbies that I really enjoy while I'm not studying are walking, learning skills, and playing video games.

First impression of IS101

At the beginning of the semester, I was with my academic advisor; she advised me of some classes that I indeed wanted to take, but looking at the course name IS101 caught my attention. I went to Google and searched, "What is IS101?" After doing my research, I learned that this course was mostly going to be about the basic computer concepts, applications, the internet, and security. Although I enrolled in IS101 late, I really enjoy being in this class because I learn about MOS skills. When I enrolled with Professor Wu, the first day he sent me an email and told me that I enrolled on the last day. Professor Wu interviewed me on why I enrolled on the last day. I responded that my academic advisor told me that IS101 was a class that I needed to take to ensure that I have a very good foundation in computers. With his help, this class has been a good environment for me, with Professor Wu always checking on the students' progress, which makes it better for the professor and the students.

1.4.1 Computer Risk

Computers are mainly the target of cybersecurity cameras. Most of these cybersecurity criminals collect personal information, which can include your house address, email address, your phone number, credit cards, or bank account. Some of the security mechanisms that you can use are firewalls, anti-malware software, and anti-spam software. With this package of security mechanisms, we can know the risk of getting viruses and phishing attacks.  There's another computer security risk when we talk about exposing computers and storage devices. When we replace a new system or dispose of a computer part. We need to dispose of them in a manner that prevents sensitive data from being exposed. Wiping the software date and destroying the hard disk to make it inaccessible.

Something that I would share about myself

I'm a very confusing person, and my energy can depend on how my day is going. But aside from that, I'm a very nice guy. I have this goal that I started in November of 2025, which is journaling about myself at least 1 or 2 times a week. So far, I only missed one week, which I'm really upset about, aside from that I have been very consistent. I feel that I have too many things to say about myself. I'm a very shy and awkward guy when I meet you or when you meet me. Once I get to know you for a long time, I get my confidence and speak to you about anything. Yes, this is something that I like to share with y'all.
